UAAP Season 71 Volleyball tournament

It’s been quite a while since I posted a new item on my blog, been very busy with school, sports and love life (?)…


October is almost over & 2 months from now, we will see the Men & Women of volleyball in the 71st Season of the UAAP…

Shakey's V-League 5th Season, 2nd Conference...

it's the time of the year again when all VBall fanatics like myself to gather & watch an excitement vball action courtesy of the V-League...


8 familiar teams are listed on the roster who will try to get the crown this conference...

Only 3 schools have the record of owning the title namely:

UST, DLSU & AdU...

it's gonna be an exciting season cause we'll see the return of familiar players in each Team's line-up with the new rule of having 2 Guest Players (1 Alumna & 1 Guest Player)...

AdU : Janet Serafica & Daniel Castañeda eventually it'll be Nene Bautista
ADMU: Charo Soriano & as of the moment, MicmIc Laborte (still scouting for a Thai Player)
CSB: Ordoñez & (?) (Sorry, little information about the Blazers...)

FEU: Ers Iratay & Joanne Bunag
LPU: Dahlia Cruz & Joy Cases
SSC-R: JiniMondejar & Su Roces (Bualee might come back)

the Archer named "Maui Villanueva"...

My friends who read my blog regularly (didn't know that..) often criticize me for writing the usual things about DLSU or Simon Atkins... So for a change & for the delightness of my readers (as if i have readers...) Here is it... A blog entry about Maui Villanueva...

VILLANUEVA, ALVIN JOSEPH or more popularly know as Maui is one of the rookies this season for DLSU. Maui used to study / play for UPIS during his Junior years (won Rookie of the Year,in his 1st year in UPIS) before travelling to JAPAN where he finished his highschool Studies...

Maui started out slow for DLSU under the shadow of Ryan Buenafe of ADMU, but just like a great player as he is, He showed Everyone the Arrival of another Villanueva Player in the UAAP...

During their 1st Meeting with UST, it was Maui's Free Throw that put DLSU on a safe ground to win that Game...

2nd Meeting with the Tigers proved that It is indeed MAUI Villanueva is the MAN that defeated the Tigers Twice.... (do i need to remind you guys of the follow up shot Maui made during the dying seconds of the game?)...

Hats off to you MAUI...

Looking forward for more Great Games & eventually a CHampionship next Season...

It's a BLUE day...

It's raining hard today, it's as if the heavens is sympathizing with the hundreds of green archers accepting their defeat like a brave warrior...

It is in deed the year of the eagles as they swept La Salle in their 4 meetings...

The Green Archers' campaign this season ain't that bad, in fact... It’s year of revelation not only for only for the players but the coaches as well...

This Season, We saw great Triumphs brought about by the players that stepped up to the challenges... We also saw the reckoning of the Future of the Green Archers, Awesome Rookies with the likes of Maui Villanueva & LA Revilla...

James Mangahas, Pj Barua, Rico Maierhofer & Simon Atkins definitely raised the level of the Game into a higher ground…

Needless to say the Heroic efforts of Captain Casio…

Thank you JVee for such a great season…

We may have lost this season, Be ready for our come back…

Game 1 - Blue Prevails...

Though I wasn't able to catch the Game 1 of the UAAP Season 71 Finals, I have this high hope of DLSU winning Game 1, but it looks like that Simon & the rest of the Archers haven't found a solution to a "Problem" named "Rabeh"... The Atenian 6'7" center scored a decent 31 points during the game yesterday... (He just might win the Season MVP)... my heart broke when i Got the news from my friend that DLSU loss the Game (8 pts deficit)... I was even more sadden when I arrived at MRT Station Cubao & See my fellow La Sallians who watched the game with a depressing look on their faces...

I'm Hoping (& keeping my fingers crossed) that DLSU can make a comeback against ADMU. I have faith in Coach Franz & The Archers that they can make it through & Defend the Title...

It Takes 2 games to win a Championship Right...

Let's pray & keep our faith that DLSU can bounce back from 3-0 Loss to ADMU.

Puerto Galera Weekend... Delayed Post Again...

1st Term is almost over, just finished with all my final exams and what else to do but ENJOY...

Me & the 7 other friends decided to hit Galera last Sept. 5 - 8... it was decent trip, with the weather's fine, not too sunny nor too rainy, just right... I missed this place so much, the last time I've been here was way back in 2006... the place haven't change a bit, it's still perfect for diving & snorkling, the corals & the fishes were still amazing as they were before, the sunset is still lovely & perfect for lovers to share their moments... (Too Bad, i don't have anyone to share it with...)

We spent our 3 days there swimming, snorkling, island hopping, eating, drinking, clubbing, swimming again, snorkling again, island hopping again, eating (as always), drinking again & Clubbing....

The Vacation was almost perfect, until DLSU loss to ADMU for the 2nd time... it was such a great game for both the Archers & The Eagles... inspite, Jvee having a bad game yet Simon & the rest of the Archers gave a good fight against the Katipunan Based Ballers... I ain't mad with DLSU Losing, I'm just sad cause it was a missed oppotunity for the twice to beat...

(Excess: My EX knows the brother of the one of the BLUE eagles & he often criticize Simon's ability & compare him with Salamat, I'm so delighted when Simon was able to steal the ball from Salamat & go for the basket... HAHAHAHHA.. Sweet Revenge)

Kudos for Simon, for playing such a great Game....

there's hope for the FALCONS come season 72, with the way these guys are playing, I'm sure that we'll all be suprised next season. and need less to say how cute Paul Gonzalgo & Marc Agustin are... =)

though it's his last playing year, no doubt that he's one of the best players NU has ever produced... Good Luck on your PBA stint (hopefully he makes it)

-Mac Baracael, Paul Sanga, Benedict Fernandez, Marlon Adolfo, JR Cawaling
such an exciting season for the Tams, after the Baracael Shooting, the emotions flowing... look where they are now? the FINAL 4 nonetheless... i just hope the emotional factor could carry them throughout the rest of the season... Facing the Archers on the Final 4...

UST
- Jervy Cruz, Dylan Ababou, Tata Bautista, Francis Allera
Bad Decisions & inconsistencies haunted the Tigers this season, they have played a great game then suddenly, their opponent was able to turn the tables on them... (remember, the DLSU match in the 1st round where they loss just by a single pt, the FEU game, where they are leading as much as 16pts. and lastly, the heartbreak loss to DLSU courtesy of Maui Villanueva)... just to add another incident in the list, is the DO or DIE game with UE last sunday... much have been said... i hope they can get back next season... but amidst all that, Francis Allera is still cute...

ADMU
-Chris Tiu, Jai Reyes, Severino Baclao, Eric Salamat
Great season for the Eagles but the question is, can they sustain their dominance...
the anticipated DLSU - ADMU 2nd meeting will happen this saturday, the game is so crucial for both squad, ADMU - the pride of sweeping DLSU & DLSU - revenge & a chance for the last TWICE to Beat Advantage... Definitely, Chris stepped up his game along with his fellow eagles but the question still lingers... "Are they strong enough?" We'll see...

-Marcy Arellano, Paul Lee
i still hate #10 for hurting SIMON unintentionally... watching their previous games, the Warriors that dominate season 70 is still there... more consistency & hyped up defense is the key to their success... Good Luck in meeting the Eagles... i do hope you butcher the Eagles this Final 4...

it's finals week and i have to move myself away from the computer to review...



this term is almost over but DLSU's bid at the 71st season of UAAP is just starting...



with Coach Franz away & the examinations are just around the cornerm this will gonna be a tough duel for the archers....

so far, the 2 of the last games of DLSU, has not been a walk in the park...

Thanks to MAUI Villanueva, DLSU, once again, escaped the Tigers.

then last sunday, Just when we thought that there's no more life left with the FALCONS.

Paul & the rest of his squad was able to push DLSU into OT...

by the way, it was best game SIMON ATKINS played so far in his UAAP Career.

With a couple of 3pointers, the steal & the Fast Break... Maturity & Consistency are now being

displayed by my Fave Archer...

Saturday Disaster - Get well soon Simon...

I so hate the player of UE wearing jersey # 10...
because of his stupidity... Simon is at the hospital suffering massive headaches...

I know that basketball is a physical game but should be that brutal?
(I just wanted to blame someone for incident!!!)...

And what's with the UE crowd applauding when the stretcher arrived?
Are they happy that someone is sufferring from a great pain?
I can't believe how inconsiderate those people are...

anyway, as of Yesterday, Simon is still in the hospital. He's fine but he had to take pain killers & valiums to somehow ease the massive headache he's suffering... He's supposed to undergo a MRI today. I still have no news regarding his current condition.

I do hope he's doing fine...

a new battle awaits him, as DLSU will face UE on thursday...

Such a Crazy Week it has been...

Finally, I'm back from the grave been to the underworld and back...

i have to do a lot of school stuffs this week because FINALS is drawing near, I can feel the pressure...

Monday - Been out all day searching for nice place to shot our indie movie as a requirement for our class. My classmates & I ended up in Cavite. It's a decent resort, perfect for the thriller/suspense/drama movie, we are to make...

Tuesday - Stayed at the library from 10am - 2:55pm, done a lot of researching for our case study. 4hours & 55 minutes with MARTIAN (remember him?) If i may say, he really changed. now, he's a notch gentler and more respectful and considerate... (Am i falling for this guy?) hihihi

Wednesday - all day at school /study/read/recite/study/research/study/eat/study/hang out.
Martian walked me home literally to my dad's condo. he even treated at Starbucks, Mocha Frappe my Fave...

Thursday- it's raining hard so the streets in TAFT are flooded (as always). had an examination and somewhat aced it. weird thing is, it's kinda cold in our classroom and Martian arrived late wearing a slight thin shirt, u can see his nice body nicely wrapped in his shirt and you can see his nips erected (censored), i think i'm beginning to heart this guy... his good looks are just the cherry on top.

Friday - d*mn prof, he just gave us a take home examination... done a lot of typing & paraphrasing... I'm tired...

Been exchanging text messages with one of the players from the Tams. i admit he's quite a charmer.

Don Hen Sunday

After my Road Trip with my dad last saturday morning & the coffee chat with my friend...

Sunday is the best day for a Food Trip. :)

I texted my friend CJ (the atenean girl) to accompany me to my ex bf's house in marikina...
i was supposed to meet him to mend things but I realized that, why should i do?
will he appreciate that or will i just make a fool out of myself...

so instead, we headed straight to Sta.Lucia Grand Mall to shop since they're on sale...

we done alot of window shopping since it's very tiring to buy any item because of the very long line, people are everywhere & the fast foods and restos are jam packed...
We're so close to giving up, when i spotted Don Hen located athe back of Sta.Lucia...
I never realized that it's still existing... I so love their Buffalo Wings & their Baked Ziti...

not only i can satisfy my cravings, we're on luck because Don Hen is having their promo,

Imagine this, a 10 inch bacon cheese burger pizza, 3 pcs chicken buffalo style, thin onion rings & iced tea for 850php... so affordable.... AS In..

we ordered that combo along with a Baked Ziti...

after 2 servings of baked ziti, dozen of onion rings , 1 1/2 chicken & 3 glasses of iced tea.

We're so full... I never eaten that much since the last time i ate at Dad's a month ago...

Saturday Fever...

My dad & I went to Pangasinan this weekend to hear mass in Manaoag...

it was a very good trip, the smell of fresh air & the ambiance that's so relaxing...

i may have enjoyed the road trip more if i wasn't sick :(

anyway, i wasn't able to watch the clash against NU & DLSU since I'm on the road with my Dad...
but according to a very reliable source, DLSU won over NU, i just wondered how many points did Simon have?... a very good birthday present for him... :)

we arrived home at around 8:30 when my friend texted me, if i wanted to have coffee...

me being a coffee addict, excitedly said yes...

He fetched me at my condo at around 9pm and we headed straight to Shang-rila...

I was able to see JRU on our way there... JRU is somewhat memorable to me though i've never been there... one of my ex, graduated from that university... (walking down memory lane)...

we arrived at Shang at around 9:30. we're supposed to watch the Dark Knight, too bad the theater was already full... *sigh...

We just had our little conversation over a cup or if i may say a venti Mocha Frappe (my fave)...

We're really not really talking about serious stuffs, We're just enjoying the ambiance & the company... much of our topics revolved around movies and tv shows...

at around 11pm, he walked me home (not literally) & we arrived in taft almost midnight...

such fun day for someone that is sick...

Day 5 - It's a GREEN Day

My friend & I was able to watch the DLSU - FEU Clash on ULTRA.:)

Luckily, DLSU won downing the Tamaraws for 11 points.

it was a very satisfying day for me, since i ws able to see Simon Atkins again :)

but rumors are spreading that he & justin are now together.. :(

they look good together...

anyway, after the game, we headed straight to RedBoX Trinoma, as a result of DLSU's Loss to ADMU (Araneta Center, July 6)...

we sang our hearts out there... Singing songs to fill our night with laughter, joy & Tears...

it's really nice to be with my friend, in times when i feel lonely...

somehow, i was able to forget about HIM...

Day 3 – New Found Friend

Day 3 – New Found Friend


I have this very arrogant, rude & self –centered classmate; I disliked him since the beginning of this trimester.

Unfortunately, because of my stupid alarm clock, I woke up late and was 15 minutes late for my 1st class. Ares, the chief god of mischief might have set his foot on our classroom that day because the most terrible thing just happened. Because of my tardiness, I was paired with my very annoying classmate to work on a case study that will last until the end of the 1st trimester.

I’m really pissed and felt so unlucky to have him as my partner… all he does is to brag about himself being so handsome, so charming & so sexy. (In fairness, He is…)

Fast forward….

Earlier, I was minding my own business sitting silently & staring blankly at the board. When he suddenly sat beside me… He was about to say something but I cut him short by saying that I’m not in the mood to listen to his ego-filled stories, he covered my mouth with his hands to shut me up (he’s wearing a Hugo Boss Energize perfume, I smelled his wrist) and said, “Don’t react, just listen…”

In a very soft voice, he uttered…

“Mariel, I know that you’re in deep shit right now, you don’t need to deny it, your tongue may lie, but your eyes won’t…

I want you to know that whatever that is bothering you. Please have the courage to share your woes with me, I promise not to make any noise, I just want you to know that you can always cry on my shoulder, even if you don’t want to say a word, just cry…”

I don’t know just what happened; I just felt that my tears are flowing down my cheeks. He guided my head towards his shoulder.

I never seen or heard him so sincere before and to be honest, I never felt any better since Monday.

It is safe to say that I’ve found a new friend in him.

Day 2 – Tough Cookie

One of my university professors approached me today and asked if I’m alright… I just gave him a faint smile started walking away.

Obviously, I ain’t feeling alright or OK, I’m trying my hardest to hold back the tears that are starting to fill my eyes… I want to show everyone that I’m a TOUGH COOKIE…

Its just a heartbreak anyway, the world needs not to know about it, I cried over him many times before and I promised myself never to shed a single tear for him…

It’s hard but he isn’t the only one who loves me so dearly… I know someday I can outgrow this feeling of being alone…

As the popular song goes “I’ll just keep on dreaming until my heartaches end…”

1st day being officially single

-Well honestly it sucks… Nobody wants to be lonely right?
But what if it’s no longer healthy for the both of you?
Will you still hold on or will you let go?
Questions like that will always pop-up in your head. Certain What Ifs and Could Have Beens will come to play. Making your thoughts a little more confusing than it was before.

Letting go of someone is never easy but its part of life, at least you were able to learn something out of that relationship (did I learn something?). Being single made me realize a lot of things… things that I always tend to overlook… maybe you’ll never know what you got until it’s gone, a cliché but true…

I will always remember the way we are or should I say, the way we were, the sharp messages, the sweet nothings, the genuine concern, the childish quarrels, the precious memories, the crazy thoughts, the intimate moments (?) … Everything…

But I have to let go of you, the same way you’ve let go of me…
No time to be bitter now, a part of you will always be with me…
It isn’t the end of the world for me (neither yours), just an end of a phase / chapter of my colorful journey called LIFE…

I admit it HURTS… but it’ll hurt us more if we continue something that wasn’t meant to be…
